We hope you enjoyed the Video Lunch & Learn!

Harris rolled into town yesterday to demo their latest and greatest - the Selenio Media Convergence Platform alongside a Pro Pixel Products' LED Wall and Christie projector & screen.

We were glad to house the occasion and happy to connect with friends both new and old in churches around the area and from the Society of Broadcast Engineers. The event ignited some great conversations and discussion into where video technology is headed next for broadcast within the worship space.

We would like to thank everyone for coming - video folks from some awesome churches, the local chapters of the Society of Broadcast Engineers, our stellar Harris representatives, and of course the delicious Jack of Hearts BBQ!

We hope to see you at our next event!

6 Ideas for Video Operators Posted 10.28.2011

"Using a video switcher is a delicate dance between operator and source content. It's up to you, the operator, to lead and not let the content step on your feet. If you're not careful, content can overwhelm and distract both you and your audience. There are steps you can take to avoid those moments and how to recover quickly when they happen."

Ben Mankin continues with 6 ideas on how to do so:

1. Understand your switcher -- "Mastering your switcher will allow you the most accurate control over your content..."

2. Be prepared -- "Order and theme will generally produce flow--that magic connection from one element to another..."

3. Think ahead -- "Knowing [what's coming next] will help you navigate quickly on your feet during the live event..."

4. Avoid the black hole -- "Talk out the path to your team. Even if you don't have cameras, walking through the process in your head can help you stay alert andmake a tranisition smoothly..."

5. Anticipate -- "...anticipating what's about to happen can save your audience from wondering what they missed..."

6. Define space -- "...be involved in the conversation enough to guide the presentation and delivery of video content..."

Ben shares how to do each of these in the September issue of TFWM. Check it out in the link below!
